We have updated our search features to help Songster DJs browse and connect with song packs that they'll love to remix, and to make it easier to pull up song packs that are already in their inventories.
The search field is available in the music store and in the song creation studio. As always, players can search for specific artists or song pack names but they can also filter the store and their inventory by genre. This is a great way to browse favorite music genres, or to find the right song pack for a specific mashup. If a Songster DJ wants to make a dubstep remix of the week's featured song...
It couldn’t be easier to make professional sounding mashups using two songs from Songster’s music collection. Use the following tips to guide your creativity toward an incredible and original song that you can share with your friends.
Song selection is key! When you get in the zone with a perfect match, your mashup may seem to arrange itself. Song packs of a compatible tempo and pitch will sound the best together. You can clap 1-2-3-4 along with a drum loop to get a feeling for if the song is slow, moderate, or fast. Mixing songs in the same tempo group (most hip-hop and country, for example,...
Catapulted to notoriety, fame, and serious hip-hop credibility with 2002's Dead Ringer LP, Philadelphia based DJ and multi-instrumentalist RJD2 has enjoyed a thoroughly prolific career.
Now, RJD2’s RJ Krohn offers fans and Songster players a rare interactive exploration into his sample-centric philosophy with the Magnificent City virtual studio featuring collaborating rapper Aceyalone. We encourage our Songster DJs to take on the mindset of reinvention with loops from “All For U,” “Cornbread, Eddie & Me,” “Disconnected,” and “Heaven.” Rearrange each song for a fresh new remix...
Songster Charts
There’s a place to hear songs being made by other Songster music creators. The “recent” tab of the Songster Charts publishes a feed of all the remixes and mashups being made in real-time. You can also subscribe to song creators directly from the songs you love. With the “follow” button, you’ll see the music your favorite charts...

Named after the main protagonist in Rudyard Kipling’s “The Jungle Book,” Mowgli’s games require real social creation. For example, Mowgli’s “Songster” provides a gaming narrative framework of working your way up through the music industry. But unlike Guitar Hero or Rock Band, you actually create the songs and collaborate with others to write them. That means creating the melodies, choosing the instruments, and adding the vocals.

Remixing the single is actually really fun. Ronnie lets ya know that you can press play at any point to see if your mix is ‘shoreworthy.’ After you select all of your music elements, he says, ‘cool remix bro!’ (Or, at least he did for us, which I gotta admit was pretty fly.) Click finish and the crowd at the club erupts in cheers!
You gotta try this. The only catch is, at the end Ronnie wants you to share your remix with your friends (and of course, you’ll be creating a killer mix that he claim as his own), but you do get to keep his song pack (oh goody). Why didn’t...
